Chef Eliana is an award-winning celebrity chef, cookbook author, and personality from New Orleans, LA. She is the Chopped Teen Grand Champion and CEO of Spice It Up!, a seasoning blend company. She grew up in a family of cooks. With grandparents from Cajun Louisiana, the Philippines, Cuba, and Honduras, Eliana’s recipes have an international flair. Eliana says, “Cooking is so much fun. You can be creative and invent new recipes.”
Eliana has three cookbooks: Eliana Cooks! Recipes for Creative Kids; Cool Kids Cook: Louisiana, which won a Parents’ Choice Approved Award and a 2014 International Latino Book Award (Pelican Publishing); and Cool Kids Cook: Fresh and Fit (Pelican Publishing). Eliana’s fourth cookbook will be released in Fall 2019!
A four-year radio show veteran, her previous global weekly radio show, “Cool Kids Cook,” won two consecutive Taste Awards. Her other radio show, “Let’s Get Cookin’,” aired on New Orleans community radio station 102.3 WHIV (“We Honor Independent Voices”).
Chef Eliana was named one the “Best Chefs of Louisiana 2018” by the American Culinary Federation, New Orleans Chapter. As the SoFAB Institute Kids Ambassador and the Crescent City Farmers Market Marketeer Ambassador, she educates families through cooking demos using fresh, seasonal ingredients. To that end, she is also an avid gardener and loves to harvest herbs, fruits, and veggies from her kitchen garden.
Chef Eliana’s mission is to encourage kids and families to eat fresh and become culinary explorers. She loves traveling and learning about other cultures through their food. Television appearances include Food Network, the TODAY show, the Wendy Williams Show, PBS, Nickelodeon, and more. Print media features include American Girl, Louisiana Kitchen & Culture, Louisiana Cookin’, New York Magazine, TeenVogue, and more.
Chef Eliana graduated from the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts, a high school arts conservatory with a full, four-year culinary program funded, in part, by the Emeril Lagasse Foundation with a Johnson & Wales curriculum. She currently attends Florida International University in Miami where she is getting her bachelor’s degree in Culinary Management.
